As a native Houstonian, KaTrissa fell in love with giving back to her community. Her passion grew during her younger years, while participating in various community events with her father, the late Bishop Joseph Taylor. After graduating from North Shore Senior High, she continued her education earning her bachelors degree in Education at Ashworth College in Georgia. As a member of The Lilly Grove Missionary Baptist Church, KaTrissa enjoyed teaching vacation bible school to the tiny tots, as well as Saturday youth classes. This soon began her career in early childhood education. KaTrissa then expanded her reach by working as a teacher at Wesley Square Head Start. By doing so, it catapulted her to working in various educational leadership positions. Over the years, she has served as Teen Director at the NFL Boys and Girls Club (Finnigan Park), "CDAC" Fallbrook Ranch as a ESL Parent and Child Educator.
KaTrissa has fused her passion for the community with her knowledge in leadership by joining the Harris County Sheriff's Office in 2009. While serving 8 years as a Detention Officer, she became a Detention's Training Officer. Shortly thereafter, she attained her peace officer license and become a sworn in deputy in 2017. She once again found herself back in a leadership role. She became a mentor and educator as a Harris County Sheriff's Training Academy Instructor. Within her agency she is also a part of the department's ERC (employee representative council),
the secretary of her law enforcement union CLEAT, where she was also selected as Officer of the year.
During her tenure, KaTrissa, was selected to be a "Shepard" of her Leadership Development Class LDI VII. She was also awarded for her Commendable
work performance by the HCSO Training Academy.
She continues to support her community as founder of Hearts of Hope. Since founding this organization in 2022, she has spearheaded annual backpack drives, holiday events, block parties and community outreach projects, while continuing her service with HCSO.
KaTrissa believes families are the backbone to a thriving society. Therefore, community efforts to assist will only strengthen relationships within and outside the home. She continues to live by "Be the change you want to see." and "Lift where you stand".
She operates in numbers with husband, Lawrence, (Etienne Music Production), her daughter, Taeylor (Project Manager), son, Dillon (Digital Marketer), LaVar & Kennedi (Content Creator). Team Members and supporting staff, Coach KeyLantra Taylor, Earl & Karen Harris, Darrick & Kris Vaughn, Khloe & Kasey Vaughn.
